Doesn’t the organisation P.E.T.A sound really great? People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Who wouldn’t agree with an organisation like that? After all, the vast majority of people are against cruelty to animals. I feel so warm and fuzzy that such an organisation exists until I investigated deeper and found out some of the MORONIC / IDIOTIC things this organisation stands for. Firstly I have to admit they do have some great policies. Their stand against bull fighting, animal testing by cosmetic companies, rodeos amongst other things (see their website) are to be commended. Now onto some of their BULLSHIT!
I’ve had pet owners telling me what a great organisation P.E.T.A is. What most pet owners, who don’t investigate further, don’t realise is P.E.T.A considers owning an animal as a pet unethical. Don’t join P.E.T.A all you loving pet owners out there. Here’s a little titbit for pet owners - Since 1998, PETA has opted to “put down” 21,339 adoptable dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens instead of finding homes for them. These guys are “animal lovers”, right? These guys are total loonies, don’t believe me here’s some more of their BULLSHIT!
Recently P.E.T.A requested the band "The Pet Shop Boys" change their name to "The Rescue Shelter Boys". Their reason is because of the cruelty, it alleges, takes place in the pet trade. This sounds like an “April fool” story except it’s actually true.
Yet another classic P.E.T.A loony idea is to use human breast milk in ice cream. PETA officials state “a move to human breast milk would lessen the suffering of dairy cows and their babies on factory farms and benefit human health“. No this story isn’t an urban legend, it’s FACT. When I read about this I RAOTFLMAO.
P.E.T.A also equates the killing of animals for food to the murder of 6 million Jews in WW II. Their "Holocaust on Your Plate" campaign, juxtaposes 60-square-foot panels displaying gruesome scenes from Nazi death camps side by side with disturbing photographs from factory farms and slaughterhouses. One shows a starving man in a concentration camp next to a starving cow. How P.E.T.A can compare the Nazi holocaust to slaughterhouses is beyond me. I find this totally obnoxious and morally repugnant.
I could rant and rave all day about P.E.T.A but I’ll leave with their “fur is murder” philosophy. I actually tend to agree with P.E.T.A (shock / horror) but they are such hypocrites when it comes to their actions related to this. I’m sure everyone has seen P.E.T.A members throwing paint on fur wearers. They especially target celebrities who wear fur. That being the case, when was the last time somebody saw P.E.T.A members target bikers. Last time I checked all bikers wear leather. Isn’t wearing leather the exact same thing as wearing fur? P.E.T.A if you truly believe in your bullshit I suggest you protest in front of biker clubhouses and start throwing paint on bikers!!
